Yalta Conference
The Yalta Conference took place in February 1945, during World War II, when leaders of the Allied powers—Winston Churchill (UK), Franklin D. Roosevelt (USA), and Joseph Stalin (USSR)—met in Yalta, Crimea. They discussed the post-war reorganization of Europe, including how to manage Germany, promote democracy in liberated countries, and establish the United Nations. The conference aimed to reshape borders and influence in Europe, but also led to tensions, contributing to the onset of the Cold War as differing visions emerged for Eastern Europe and the spheres of influence among the Allied powers.
