XYY syndrome

XYY syndrome is a genetic condition where a male has an extra Y chromosome, resulting in a total of 47 chromosomes instead of the usual 46. This variation often causes taller stature, sometimes with learning difficulties or speech delays, but many individuals lead normal lives with minimal symptoms. It does not typically affect physical appearance significantly. XYY syndrome occurs randomly and is not inherited. Most males with this condition do not experience serious health problems and benefit from early support and education if needed.
