Wuxing (Five Elements)

Wuxing, or the Five Elements, is a traditional Chinese philosophy describing five fundamental forces: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. These elements represent natural phenomena and are believed to interact dynamically, influencing health, environment, and relationships. Each element has unique qualities and cycles of creation (where one feeds or promotes the next) and destruction (where one suppresses or controls another). Wuxing helps explain balance and harmony in nature and human life, guiding practices in medicine, feng shui, and martial arts by emphasizing the importance of maintaining this dynamic equilibrium.
