World Zionist Organization
The World Zionist Organization (WZO) was founded in 1897 to promote the development of a Jewish homeland in Palestine. It serves as an umbrella body representing Jews worldwide, coordinating efforts like supporting Jewish immigration, settlement, and cultural revival. The organization played a key role in establishing institutions, fostering Jewish identity, and advocating for the creation and maintenance of the State of Israel. While it originally focused on political and territorial goals, today it also addresses cultural, social, and educational needs of the Jewish people globally. Its mission is to strengthen Jewish connection to Israel and support Jewish communities worldwide.
