Wolff's Law states that bones adapt to the stresses placed on them; they become stronger and denser where they are subjected to more weight or activity. For example, a person who begins weightlifting will see increased bone strength in their arms and legs over time because the bones respond to the increased load by remodeling themselves. Conversely, if a limb is immobilized or unused, the bone density may decrease. This natural process helps maintain optimal bone strength based on the body's activity levels and mechanical demands, ensuring bones are neither over-built nor too weak for their function.
