
Winona LaDuke
Winona LaDuke is an Indigenous activist, environmentalist, and writer of White Earth Anishinaabe heritage. She advocates for Native rights, sustainable land use, and environmental justice, emphasizing the importance of respecting Native cultures and traditions. LaDuke co-founded the nonprofit organization Honor the Earth, which promotes renewable energy projects and supports Indigenous communities. She gained national attention as vice-presidential candidate alongside Ralph Nader in 2000. Her work focuses on empowering Indigenous peoples, protecting natural resources, and advocating for social and environmental equity.
