William Whiston
William Whiston (1667–1752) was an English theologian, mathematician, and scientist known for his work in history and astronomy. He was a student of Isaac Newton and contributed to the development of celestial mechanics, including a revised translation of the Bible with chronological notes. Whiston also proposed theories about comets and the natural world, often integrating scientific ideas with religious beliefs. His work aimed to understand the universe's divine order, blending faith and science. Despite some controversial views, his contributions helped advance the study of astronomy and biblical history in the 17th and 18th centuries.
