William F. Browder
William F. Browder is an American financier and political activist, best known for his work in Russia during the 1990s and for founding the investment firm Hermitage Capital Management. He became a prominent advocate for human rights and anti-corruption efforts after a legal battle with Russian authorities, which he describes as a campaign of retribution against him following his expose of widespread corruption. His experiences led to the creation of the Magnitsky Act, a U.S. law that imposes sanctions on foreign officials implicated in human rights abuses. Browder remains a vocal critic of the Russian government.
