White balance

White balance is a camera setting that adjusts how colors appear in a photo to match the lighting conditions. Since different light sources (like sunlight, fluorescent, or incandescent bulbs) emit light with varying color tones, white balance ensures whites and other colors look natural. When set correctly, it prevents images from appearing too warm (yellow/orange) or too cool (blue). Modern cameras often have automatic white balance, but adjusting it manually can improve color accuracy in challenging lighting situations, resulting in images that appear true to life.
