Whales

Whales are large marine mammals belonging to the order Cetacea. They are divided into two main groups: baleen whales, which filter-feed on small organisms, and toothed whales, which hunt larger prey. Whales are known for their intelligence, social behaviors, and complex vocalizations, often referred to as songs, particularly among humpback whales. They play a crucial role in marine ecosystems by helping to regulate food chains and contribute to nutrient cycling in the ocean. As apex predators, their well-being reflects the health of marine environments, but many species face threats from hunting, pollution, and climate change.
