West Germany

West Germany, officially known as the Federal Republic of Germany, was established in 1949 after World War II, in response to the division of Germany into East and West. It was a democratic country aligned with Western nations during the Cold War, while East Germany was communist and aligned with the Soviet bloc. West Germany experienced significant economic growth and became a key player in European politics. The reunification with East Germany occurred in 1990, marking the end of its separate existence and the restoration of a unified Germany.
