Wegener (Alfred Wegener)

Alfred Wegener was a scientist who proposed the theory of continental drift in 1912. He suggested that Earth's continents were once joined together in a supercontinent called Pangaea and have since drifted apart over millions of years. His idea was based on evidence like the jigsaw fit of continents, matching fossil records, and similar rock formations across continents. Although initially controversial, Wegener’s theory laid the foundation for modern plate tectonics, explaining how Earth's surface is constantly changing through the movement of large crustal plates.
