Water Quality Index (WQI)

The Water Quality Index (WQI) is a numerical scale that summarizes the quality of water based on various factors, helping us understand its overall health. It considers measurements like temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, and levels of pollutants, assigning scores to each factor. These scores are then combined to produce a single index value, usually ranging from 0 to 100. A higher WQI indicates better water quality, meaning it’s safer for drinking and aquatic life, while a lower score suggests pollution or health risks. WQI simplifies complex data, making it easier for the public to assess water quality.
