Warschauer Ghetto Uprising
The Warsaw Ghetto Uprising was a Jewish resistance effort during World War II, beginning in April 1943. When Nazi forces attempted to deport remaining residents of the Warsaw Ghetto to extermination camps, Jewish fighters organized an armed protest. Despite being outnumbered and outgunned, they fought for nearly a month, using homemade weapons and guerilla tactics. The uprising was a symbol of courage and resistance amid devastating oppression, though ultimately the Germans crushed the revolt and deported or killed most of the ghetto's inhabitants. It remains an important symbol of Jewish resistance against Nazi persecution.
