Waltz's Levels of Analysis

Waltz's Levels of Analysis are a way to understand why countries behave the way they do in international relations. There are three main levels: the individual level, which looks at leaders’ choices and personalities; the state level, focusing on a country's domestic politics, economy, and culture; and the international system level, examining how global rules, power structures, and other countries influence behavior. By analyzing these levels, we can better understand international conflicts, alliances, and stability. Each level offers a different perspective, helping us see the bigger picture of global interactions.
