Vocalization
Vocalization is the process of producing sounds using the voice, primarily through the vibration of the vocal cords in the larynx (voice box). When air is pushed from the lungs through the trachea, it causes the vocal cords to vibrate, creating sound waves. These sounds are shaped by the mouth, tongue, lips, and other parts of the vocal apparatus to form speech, singing, or other vocal expressions. In animals, vocalization can include calls, roars, or chirps used for communication. Overall, vocalization is the biological mechanism that allows creatures, including humans, to produce meaningful sounds and communicate.
