Viral Meningitis
Viral meningitis is an inflammation of the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord caused by a virus. It often results from viruses like enteroviruses, herpes simplex, or varicella. Symptoms may include headache, fever, stiff neck, sensitivity to light, nausea, and sometimes confusion. While it can be uncomfortable, most people recover fully with supportive care, such as rest and fluids. Unlike bacterial meningitis, viral meningitis is generally less severe and doesn't usually require antibiotics. Early diagnosis and symptom management are important for a good outcome.
