Vinblastine
Vinblastine is a chemotherapy drug used to treat certain types of cancer, including Hodgkin's lymphoma and testicular cancer. It works by disrupting the growth and division of cancer cells, preventing them from multiplying. Vinblastine binds to structures inside cells called microtubules, which are essential for cell division, and prevents them from forming properly. This interference causes the cancer cells to stop dividing and eventually die. While effective against cancer, vinblastine can also affect healthy cells that divide rapidly, leading to side effects such as fatigue, hair loss, and susceptibility to infections.
