ABVD (Adriamycin, Bleomycin, Vinblastine, Dacarbazine)
ABVD is a chemotherapy regimen used to treat certain types of cancer, particularly Hodgkin lymphoma. It consists of four medications: Adriamycin (doxorubicin), which kills cancer cells; Bleomycin, which also targets cancer cells; Vinblastine, which inhibits cell division; and Dacarbazine, which damages cancer cell DNA. Together, these drugs work to shrink tumors and prevent cancer from spreading. ABVD is administered in cycles, allowing the body time to recover between treatments. While effective, it can cause side effects, which patients should discuss with their healthcare team for proper management.
