Vibratory Urticaria

Vibratory urticaria is a type of hives caused by physical vibration. When a person is exposed to vibrations—like from machinery, engines, or even intense exercise—they may develop itchy, swollen red welts on their skin. These welts can appear shortly after the exposure and usually fade within several hours. The condition is linked to the body's immune response, where certain triggers, like vibration, cause the release of histamine, leading to the hive reaction. Managing this condition often involves avoiding known triggers and, in some cases, using antihistamines to help reduce symptoms.
