Venus (the planet)
Venus is the second planet from the Sun, often called Earth's sister planet due to its similar size and structure. It has a thick, toxic atmosphere composed mainly of carbon dioxide, creating an intense greenhouse effect that makes its surface extremely hot—hotter than Mercury, despite being farther from the Sun. Venus has a rocky surface with mountains, volcanoes, and vast plains. Its rotation is unusual, spinning very slowly and in the opposite direction of most planets. This harsh environment makes Venus difficult to study, but it offers valuable insights into planetary science and Earth's climate history.
