Venerable Bede
Venerable Bede, also known as Saint Bede, was an Anglo-Saxon monk, historian, and scholar who lived from around 673 to 735 AD. He is best known for his work "Ecclesiastical History of the English People," which chronicles the history of England and the Christian Church's spread there. Bede is regarded as the father of English history and was one of the early historians to use a chronological system, marking years by the birth of Christ. His writings contributed significantly to the development of history as a discipline and established him as a key figure in early medieval scholarship.
