Venera-D
Venera-D is a planned Russian space mission aimed at exploring Venus, our neighboring planet. It involves sending an orbiter to study Venus's atmosphere, surface, and climate in detail, and potentially deploying a lander to analyze the ground directly. The mission seeks to improve understanding of Venus’s volcanic activity, geological history, and atmospheric composition, which can provide insights into planetary evolution and climate change. Venera-D builds on past Soviet and NASA missions, utilizing advanced instruments to gather data that could reveal why Venus developed so differently from Earth. It represents Russia’s effort to deepen our knowledge of Earth's "sister" planet.
