Vasily II was a 15th-century Russian ruler known as Vasily the Blind after he was blinded by his enemies. He became Grand Prince of Moscow and unified various Russian lands, strengthening the country's independence and central authority. Despite initial setbacks, including losing his eyesight, he recovered politically and expanded Moscow's influence through strategic alliances and military campaigns. His reign helped lay the foundation for Russia's future as a powerful and united nation.
