Vardaris
Vardaris is a weather phenomenon characterized by a strong, dry, easterly or southeasterly wind that occurs in the northern Aegean region, particularly around Thessaloniki in Greece. It typically happens during late autumn and winter, often reaching high speeds that can cause disruptions. Vardaris is driven by differences in atmospheric pressure between the continent and the sea, leading to a brisk flow of air from inland areas toward the coast. This wind can bring clear skies and cold temperatures, and its intensity sometimes results in increased dust and debris in the atmosphere.
