V-1 flying bomb

The V-1 flying bomb, developed by Nazi Germany during World War II, was an early cruise missile. It resembled a small aircraft and used a pulse-jet engine for propulsion. Launched from ground sites, it traveled at a subsonic speed towards targets, primarily in London. The bomb was unmanned and aimed to cause destruction through its explosive payload upon impact. Though initially effective in instilling fear, advancements in Allied defenses reduced its impact. The V-1 was part of Germany's broader "V-weapons" program, showcasing early attempts at guided missile technology.
