USSR Basketball Federation

The USSR Basketball Federation was the governing body responsible for the sport of basketball in the Soviet Union, overseeing its development, organization, and promotion from the early 1930s until the dissolution of the USSR in 1991. It managed national teams, leagues, and training programs, significantly contributing to the growth of basketball in the region. The federation helped produce many talented players and teams, which often succeeded in international competitions, including the Olympics. After the USSR dissolved, the federation's duties were taken over by the independent basketball federations of the former Soviet republics.
