The U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC), now known as the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC), is the organization responsible for overseeing the participation of American athletes in the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Founded in 1894, it coordinates training, funding, and support for athletes and sports organizations. The USOPC works to promote Olympic values, advocate for athletes’ rights, and ensure the integrity and success of Team USA. It also manages the bidding process for future Olympic host cities in the United States and engages in community outreach through sports.
