US Airways Flight 1549

US Airways Flight 1549, also known as the "Miracle on the Hudson," was an emergency landing that occurred on January 15, 2009. Shortly after taking off from New York's LaGuardia Airport, the plane struck a flock of geese, losing engine power. Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger and First Officer Jeffrey Skiles decided to land in the Hudson River instead of returning to the airport. All 155 passengers and crew members survived, thanks to the swift actions of the crew and nearby rescuers. This incident highlighted the importance of pilot training and decision-making in crisis situations.
