Ureteral Stones
Ureteral stones, also known as ureteral calculi, are hard mineral deposits that form in the kidneys and can travel down the urinary tract to the ureters, which are tubes connecting the kidneys to the bladder. These stones can cause severe pain, often referred to as renal colic, as they move through the narrow ureters and may block urine flow. Symptoms can include sharp abdominal pain, blood in urine, and frequent urination. Treatment may involve pain management, increased fluid intake, or medical procedures to remove or break up the stones. Diet and hydration can help prevent their formation.
