Urban Local Bodies

Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) are government organizations responsible for governing and managing cities and towns. They handle local services such as sanitation, water supply, street maintenance, traffic regulation, and public health. ULBs include municipalities, municipal corporations, and town councils, and are elected by residents to ensure the city's development and citizens’ needs are met. They operate within a legal framework set by state and national governments, aiming to improve urban living standards through planning, infrastructure development, and service delivery. Essentially, ULBs serve as the administrative entities that bring governance and development to urban areas.
