UNSAMIR
UNSAMIR, or the United Nations Special Mission for Iraq, was established to support stability and peace efforts during Iraq's transition period in 2003-2004. Its role focused on monitoring and verifying actions related to disarmament, demobilization, and the integration of former combatants, as well as supporting national sovereignty and security reforms. UNSAMIR aimed to assist the Iraqi government in establishing a secure and stable environment following conflict, working alongside other international agencies to promote peace, stability, and the rebuilding of institutions.
