United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN)
The United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) was a peacekeeping effort established in 2007 to support Nepal's peace process after years of conflict. Its primary roles included monitoring the Maoist combatants’ arms and armies, assisting in integrating former fighters into civilian life, and helping to ensure the ceasefire remained intact. UNMIN aimed to facilitate political stability, promote dialogue, and support the successful implementation of the peace agreement. The mission concluded in 2011 once Nepal made significant progress towards peace and stability.
