The United Arab Republic was a political union between Egypt and Syria that existed from 1958 to 1961. It was an attempt to create a unified Arab nation, promoting economic and political cooperation. Egypt’s President Gamal Abdel Nasser led the formation, aiming for regional strength and independence from Western influence. However, Syria withdrew from the union in 1961 due to political disagreements and differing national interests, leading to the dissolution of the United Arab Republic.
