Union Territories

Union Territories are regions in India directly governed by the Central Government, unlike states which have their own governments. They are typically smaller or less populous areas that do not have the same level of autonomy. Each Union Territory has a Lieutenant Governor or Administrator appointed by the central government to oversee administration. Examples include Delhi, Chandigarh, and Lakshadweep. The central government handles many administrative functions, making these territories administratively dependent on the national government rather than having a fully autonomous state government.
