Union Shops

A union shop is a type of workplace where employers and employees agree that all workers must join the union after being hired or pay union dues. This arrangement helps ensure that employees support collective bargaining efforts for better wages and working conditions. In a union shop, while you don’t have to be a union member to work there, you must join the union or contribute financially to it after a certain period. This system aims to strengthen the union's negotiating power and promote solidarity among workers.
