Union of Arab Republics

The Union of Arab Republics was a political idea proposed in the 1950s and 1960s to unite Egypt, Syria, and later Iraq into a single, sovereign state. The goal was to promote Arab nationalism, economic cooperation, and regional stability. Egypt and Syria formed the United Arab Republic in 1958 but dissolved in 1961 due to political differences. Iraq, initially part of the idea, did not join the union. Although the union was short-lived, it symbolized aspirations for Arab unity and cooperation during that era.
