Underwater surgery

Underwater surgery refers to surgical procedures performed while the patient is submerged underwater, typically in a controlled, hyperbaric environment like a pressurized chamber. This technique is used mostly in research or specialized cases, such as treating certain marine-related injuries or infections. The aquatic environment can enhance healing and reduce infection risk. However, it requires specialized training for surgeons due to the unique challenges posed by water pressure and the need for adapted surgical tools and techniques. As of now, underwater surgery is not widely practiced and remains more of an experimental approach.
