Unas
Unas, also known as Wenis, was an ancient Egyptian pharaoh who ruled during the 5th Dynasty, around 2350 to 2325 BCE. He is notable for being one of the last kings of this dynasty and for his significant contributions to pyramidal architecture. Unas was the first pharaoh to have his pyramid complex adorned with texts known as the Pyramid Texts, which are among the oldest religious writings in the world. These inscriptions provided insights into his beliefs about the afterlife and aimed to ensure his safe passage and transformation after death. His reign marked a transition in Old Kingdom Egypt.
