Ultraviolet-C (UVC)

Ultraviolet-C (UVC) is a type of ultraviolet light with very short wavelengths that can kill or inactivate bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms by damaging their DNA or RNA. Because of its germicidal properties, UVC is used in sterilization and disinfection processes, such as sanitizing air, water, and surfaces. However, UVC is harmful to skin and eyes, so it must be used with proper safety measures. It is not naturally present on Earth's surface due to ozone layer absorption, but artificial UVC sources are employed in various industries to promote hygiene and prevent disease spread.
