ultra-processed foods

Ultra-processed foods are products that are heavily manufactured using industrial techniques and contain ingredients not typically found in home cooking, such as artificial flavors, preservatives, colorings, and stabilizers. They often have high levels of added sugars, unhealthy fats, and salt, and are designed to be convenient, flavorful, and highly palatable. Examples include soft drinks, packaged snacks, processed meats, and many fast-food items. While convenient, consuming them in excess has been linked to health issues like obesity, heart disease, and diabetes, making moderation and whole, minimally processed foods important for a balanced diet.
