
Ulrich von Hutten
Ulrich von Hutten (1488–1523) was a German knight, humanist, and reformer during the early 16th century. He is known for his support of Renaissance ideas, emphasis on classical learning, and advocacy for religious and political reform. Hutten actively criticized the Catholic Church’s abuses and promoted ideas that contributed to the early stages of the Reformation. His writings and efforts aimed to challenge ecclesiastical authority, encouraging national and cultural renewal in Germany.
