Ukrainian Jewish history spans over a millennium, marked by vibrant communities flourishing in cities like Kyiv and Lviv despite periods of persecution. Throughout the Middle Ages, Jews contributed to trade, culture, and scholarship, but faced prohibitions and violence, notably during pogroms in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
