Uganda-Tanzania War
The Uganda-Tanzania War, fought from 1978 to 1979, was a conflict between Uganda, led by Idi Amin, and Tanzania, under President Julius Nyerere. Amin's oppressive regime and aggressive policies destabilized Uganda, prompting Tanzania to intervene militarily to restore stability and overthrow Amin. The war involved Tanzanian troops and Ugandan exiles fighting on Ugandan soil, ultimately leading to Amin’s defeat and exile. The conflict significantly impacted the region, ending Uganda's brutal regime and reinforcing Tanzania’s influence in East Africa.
