Udham Singh
Udham Singh (1899–1940) was an Indian revolutionary and freedom fighter known for risking his life to resist British colonial rule. He is most famous for assassinating Michael O’Dwyer, a British official responsible for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar in 1919, which caused immense suffering for Indians. Singh believed justice for the massacre could only be achieved through direct action against those accountable. His act made him a symbol of resistance and sacrifice in India’s struggle for independence, and he is remembered today as a hero who fought for Indian freedom and justice.
