UBE2C
UBE2C is a type of enzyme called an E2 conjugating enzyme involved in the process of protein regulation within cells. Its main role is to help attach a small protein called ubiquitin to specific target proteins. This tagging marks the proteins for destruction or alters their activity, which is essential for controlling cell growth, division, and response to signals. Proper functioning of UBE2C ensures healthy cell cycle progression, but when it’s overactive, it may contribute to abnormal cell growth, such as in cancer.
