Ötzi's clothing
Ötzi, the well-preserved Copper Age mummy, wore clothing suited to his environment. He carried a cloak made from woven animal hide, likely sheepskin, providing insulation. His loincloth and leggings were crafted from deer and goat hide, sealed with fur to retain warmth. He wore a cape with fur lining, and his shoes, made from deerskin and moss, offered insulation against cold ground. Accessories such as a hat and armbands were also made from animal materials, combining functionality and warmth. His clothing reflects advanced knowledge of using natural resources for protection in harsh mountain conditions nearly 5,300 years ago.
