Type 3 von Willebrand Disease

Type 3 von Willebrand Disease is a rare bleeding disorder caused by a severe deficiency or absence of von Willebrand factor (VWF), a protein that helps blood clot properly. Without enough VWF, blood doesn’t clot effectively, leading to spontaneous or prolonged bleeding, such as nosebleeds, easy bruising, or bleeding from cuts. This type is usually inherited and can be more severe than other types, often requiring medical treatment like blood products or medications to help control bleeding episodes.
