Type 1 Seyfert

Type 1 Seyfert galaxies are a type of active galaxy with a bright nucleus fueled by a supermassive black hole. They emit strong radiation across the electromagnetic spectrum, including visible light, due to the heated gas and dust near the black hole. The "Type 1" classification means we can see both the broad emission lines (high-speed gas close to the black hole) and narrow lines (slower gas farther out), indicating a direct view of the galaxy's core. These galaxies help astronomers study the environments surrounding supermassive black holes and the processes that power active galactic nuclei.
