Two-stroke engine
A two-stroke engine is a type of internal combustion engine that completes a power cycle in two movements of the piston—upward and downward—rather than four like in a four-stroke engine. During these two strokes, it simultaneously draws in fuel, compresses it, ignites to produce power, and expels exhaust gases. Its design allows for fewer parts and faster operation, making it lightweight and powerful for its size. However, it typically uses more fuel and produces more emissions compared to four-stroke engines. Common applications include chainsaws, small motorcycles, and outboard motors.
